Graduate Students

Graduate Student Volunteers needed for ASEMS

Are you a graduate student who is interested in giving back to undergraduate STEM students?

The ASEMS Program would welcome your support and has a number of ways you can get involved:

Graduate students are always needed to serve as mentors for upper classmen. Mentors and mentees are matched 1 to 1 primarily based upon fields of study. ASEMS will provide a structured schedule for meetings between mentors and mentees as well as providing several opportunities throughout the year for all of our mentors and mentees to collectively get together.

We have several opportunities each semester for graduate students to participate in panel discussions for students in our classes. These discussions usually focus on either successfully navigating the path to graduate school or getting involved in research as student.

Throughout the year, we host a number of social events with our program participants, graduate students, and faculty partners. The goal of these events is to support our students in developing their networking skills and develop professional connections.

If you have any questions about how you can get involved, please contact Rell Ohlson (rohlson@arizona.edu).
