Arizona’s Science, Engineering, and Mathematics Scholars program started off as a grassroots movement to increase, retain, and graduate students in STEM from diverse backgrounds. Now, with the help of federal and private grants, we have multiple programs to support more than 275 students per year through graduation.


Serves 120 first generation students, students with financial need, and/or students with disabilities pursuing majors in STEM or health sciences per year.

ASEMS Transfer Program (ASEMS-T) and S-STEM 

Serves 80 College of Science community college transfer students per year. Some students may also be eligible for the S-STEM Scholarship program.

Serves 75 entering first year students and 25 entering community college transfer students per year studying CALS STEM majors.
